SS18 Lineapelle London Round-Up – Fashion and Food!
It was a rainy Tuesday in London but the Lineapelle Trend Presentation managed to brighten Team Evissa’s day!
Widely regarded as the most important international exhibition in the design calendar, Lineapelle is dedicated to leather, synthetics and components for accessories and footwear. The show is held twice a year in London, Milan and New York, and provides buyers and designers with a sneak preview of emerging trends.
As the first of the Autumn/Winter 2017 fashion week reports start to filter through and we pore over the street style shots, trend predictors switch their focus to Spring/Summer 2018.
We always enjoy the social commentary at the presentation and learning how pop-culture can influence fashion trends. Over the years, Lineapelle predictions have been highly influential to the fashion industry and this show was no exception.
Team Evissa were treated to an explosion of colour, geometric prints and reptile textures to inspire our product development. Contrasting opaque and mineral pastels with vivid blues and turquoises, the new palettes are fresh, exciting and unexpected. Prints too, were unexpected and unusual, giving us a lot of food for thought. Actually… even molecular gastronomy trends were mentioned in the presentation, merging two of our favourite things: fashion and food!
Back at Evissa HQ, we are compiling a comprehensive report with a trend overview and detailed analysis of the colours, prints, textures and finishes from the show. We circulate the report to our Buyers and Designers to ensure they can share our insight. Subsequently, we create a ‘wish list’ for product development to ensure our bag ranges are dynamic and directional in the coming season.
But for now, now we are off in search of gastronomic delights (lunch), our heads full of new ideas…
