In the middle of a heatwave, Team Evissa felt all Autumnal as tweed, checks and burnished colour palettes pop-up in London’s Pre-Fall Accessories collections. We spotted an ‘old’ friend in Dior’s window too…the Saddle Bag returns!
Complementing the catwalk’s continuing love affair with the 1970’s, Mango Yellow (especially in soft suede) has a retro feel that makes us think of Ally McGraw, Farah Fawcett and flares! Combined with denim, rust and camel, classic yellow saddle and camera bags are an easy styling addition to add punch to any outfit.
A perennial trend, Python leather continues to feature in Pre-Fall collections, adding textural interest snaking (!) around edges, thin panels and straps. Tying-in perfectly with the Western trend that gathers momentum in AW18, Jimmy Choo’s exotic pink python and Longchamp’s camouflage combination provide a subtle alternative to mostly natural shades.
Geo Quilted Boxy Shoulder Bags
Quilting on Boxy shoulder bags takes on a geometric outline across many brands from iconic Chanel (where hardware is also criss-cross engraved) to Bvlgari, where quilting echoes their signature snakehead. Longchamp exaggerate the 3D quilted effect with padded inserts for added graphic appeal.
